Vilapura is a small-scale Bed & Breakfast in the Algarve, Portugal. The rooms are tastefully decorated with design.

This is a naturist B&B run by the Portuguese couple Carlos and Filomena. It is a small-scale naturist resort where you can relax. The town of Tavira is only 6 km from this complex and access to the famous Barril Beach is only 3 kilometers. Here is a beautiful nudist beach.

Portugal is a popular holiday destination for the Dutch, but in terms of naturism not much is possible. Vilapura ligt in de Algarve, that is the southernmost province of Portugal. The landscape of the Algarve is very varied. There are lagoons and miles of sandy beaches to the east of Faro, including one of the most beautiful naturist beaches in Tavira, Barrilbeach and to the west of Faro, the coast is dotted with rock formations and small beaches.

East of Faro the coast is approx 60 kilometers long and there are the famous seaside resorts such as Olhão, Santa Luzia in Tavira, where tourism is very important, but not as developed as on the Spanish Costas. You will hardly find any high-rise buildings here. Many cities also have a beautiful old town and Tavira is also very cozy. The hilly interior of the Algarve lies just behind the coast and is still virtually untouched. The highest point in the Algarve is the Fóia with 902 meter. The forest fires that often occur in Portugal in summer rarely or never reach the Algarve.

At certain points on the Algarve coast, east of Faro, is a real Wadden region, that floods at high tide. At high tide the water is deep enough to enter.

It's in Portugal 1 hour earlier than in the Netherlands.

Portuguese cuisine:
Portuguese cuisine is a bit like Spanish cuisine. The most famous sweet dish from Portugal is Pastel de Belém, this is a kind of pastry with pudding and you really have to try it! Many fish and shellfish can be found in Portuguese cuisine.

Language:
The vast majority of the population speaks Portuguese, with several dialects. Portuguese is a Roman world language and outside of Portugal it is also spoken in Brazil, Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tome in Principe, East Timor, Cape Verde, Mozambique, and other areas, like Goa and Malacca (Cristao). It is also spoken by a minority in Macau, where it is an official language.

Currency:
Portugal is part of the European Union and you can also pay with the Euro here.
Nearly all cards will be accepted for paying. Credit cards are also accepted.

Climate:
Although Tavira is on the Atlantic Ocean, it has a Mediterranean climate. This means that the summers are warm and dry and the winters are mild and wet. Most rain falls from November to March. It rarely rains in summer and when it rains, it never takes long.

We have visited Vilapura for you and felt very at home with Carlos and Filomena. They have an eye for detail and decorated the rooms with taste. The rooms are not big, but arranged in such a way that it does not stand out. The family has a ceramics factory, which means that many tasteful decorations can be found throughout the complex.

Services:

- Outdoor seating that everyone can use with fridge with drinks that you can grab yourself and write down what you use (honesty bar).
- Breakfast terrace inside and outside. Breakfast buffet is included.
- Lounge for the cooler evenings.
– Free WIFI.
- Lunch and dinner can be arranged upon request.

Relaxation:
- Plunch pool with sunbeds and umbrellas (this is a bath of 2 x 2 meter where you can cool down nicely).
- Roof terrace with sunbeds and umbrella from which you can see the sea.
- Free bicycles to borrow to go to the beach.

If you want to go to the beach by bike or to Tavira, then you can get a cool bag and lunch (for a fee). There are also bicycles with a basket in front to take things with you. You can also borrow a parasol.

At just 3 km away is the train that takes you to Barril Beach. You can go here from Vila Pura by bicycle or by car. In summer we recommend a bicycle, as parking can be a problem. Praia do Barril is part of the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa conservation area. Ria Formosa is a wide and swampy area. A small train takes you in approx 8 minutes from the dunes and the beach. You can also choose to walk past it and that takes approx 15 minutes to complete. The train currently costs € 1,50 per person each way. When you arrive at the beach you have to pay approx 15 minutes walk (1.5 km) to get to the nudist beach.

You can enjoy delicious food on Praia do Barril at various small restaurants / bars. From hamburger to Portuguese tapas.

By car:
Vilapura is circa 2367 km from Utrecht.
A car (or rental car) is a good way to travel around Portugal and useful if you want to visit slightly remote places. The roads in Portugal are of good quality. On the highways is described where the nearest gas station / restaurant, picnic areas are. Please note that you are on French, Spanish and Portuguese highways have to pay toll if you go with your own car. The toll can be paid by cash or credit card.

Furthermore, you must be owned by International Insurance certificates known as the green card if you go by car.

A valid driver's license, is necessary.

With the plane:
It is about 3 hour and 5 minutes to Faro. From Faro it is approx 35 minute drive. We mediate among other Transavia, TAP and Ryanair. We advise you to rent a car so you can see more of the environment. If you want to go to the beach, you definitely need a rental car.

Information about the flight days and the rental car can be asked by us.
